*Nancy Abraham Rubarts, granddaughter of Bertha Klein Oberembt, sent this interesting comment:
"The reason Bertha was not in the photo was that she and her family lived in DeMotte at the time. She was one of 13 children and had to live in Lowell to go to high school. The trip to Lowell from DeMotte was prohibitive on a regular basis. Immediately following graduation she left for home -- missing the graduation photo. She was homesick. Eventually she enrolled in Valparaiso University and graduated with a teaching degree."
