This Lowell Tribune article was found in the May 10, 1945, issue (page 3, column 1):
William (Coffee) Bartz, Jr. who has been in some of the heaviest fighting with the U.S. fleet in the Southwest Pacific theatre, has received a medical discharge from the service, arriving home last Friday.
