At about eight o'clock that evening they walked in on her, as she was surrounded by her family and holding her new grandson, the son of Bernard Beckman, Jr., who with his wife have just recently arrived from Washington, D.C., to make their home here. The ladies were glad to meet and welcome Mrs. Beckman, Jr.
The evening was spent in playing games and listening to several musical numbers. At a late hour the ladies all gathered around the dining room table, which was beautiful with a bouquet of carnations, a gift to Mrs. Beckman from her husband, one carnation for each receding year. A lovely luncheon was served.
The ladies departed at a late hour after a very enjoyable evening, wishing Mrs. Beckman many happy returns of the day.
