SOLDIER DIES IN GOV'T. HOSPITAL
ARCHIE BLACK PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL, IN WALLA WALLA, WASHINGTON.
Word was received here last Friday that Archie Black had passed away in the government hospital at Walla Walla, Washington, the cause of death being tuberculosis. He formerly resided here, but for several years has been in the U.S. Army. He re-enlisted about three years ago, being honorably discharged in March of the present year. Most of the time in his first enlistment was spent in the Hawaiian Islands.
The remains arrived in Lowell Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held at the Lowell M.E. church yesterday at 2 p.m. Interment was made in West Creek cemetery in the family lot. The members of Lowell Post American Legion had charge of the funeral service.
