A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article, hand-dated Jan. 3, 1957, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Mrs. Carl Brownell received news today, January 3, of the death of Mrs. Mae Sigler Boal. Mrs. Boal resided with her daughter, Mrs. Francis Sriene and family in Mansfield, Ohio. She passed away December 26. Burial was beside her husband in Cedar Park, Chicago. Older residents here will remember Mae as the daughter of the William Siglers, whose home was located where Hardings, Inc. now stands. Mae was born and reared near Lowell and moved to Chicago with her parents after they sold their store here in the 1880's.
