He was united in marriage April 1873 to Miss Rachel Britton. To this union were born four daughters and one son. Two daughters and the mother have crossed the silent river.
He was again united in marriage to Miss Ella Philips. Those who are left to mourn his loss are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Dan King and Mrs. George Regnier and one son, Wesley, nine grand-children, one great-grand-child and [a] host of friends.
He united with the Methodist church in his boyhood days and has tried to live to the teachings of his Creator.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Shelby M.E. church, Rev. C.A. Brown officiating. Interment at Orchard Grove. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service.
