The following unidentified newspaper article, hand-dated 16, Feb. 1924, was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Drowned Near Hebron
A fatal accident occurred near Hebron last Saturday about 1 p.m. when Mr. and Mrs. David Brough were drowned. They, with their two children, were driving on the road in their automobile, when the machine skidded and was overturned in a ditch beside the road. Mr. and Mrs. Brough were pinned under the machine and drowned before help could get there. The children escaped serious injury. The boy was taken to a hospital but is recovering nicely. The daughter was uninjured and she was the first one to save her brother from drowning.
Funeral services were held Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Brough were uncle and aunt to Ray Nichols, of Lowell.
