The following comes from Rev. T.H. Ball's 1904 Encyclopedia of Genealogy and Biography of Lake County, Indiana, with a Compendium of History, 1834-1904, page 119:
SIMEON BRYANT staid about one year and removed to Indian Town, over the line in Porter county, south of the present town of Hebron, and there made his permanent home as a citizen of Porter.
The following article was found in the Oct. 12, 1872, Lowell Star on page 5, column 2:
Simeon Bryant, an old land-mark of this county, one of the earliest settlers, was expected to breathe his last when last heard from. He will probably be dead ere this paper is perused.
