Southern Pine, a joint Army-Air Force exercise, is the largest routine training maneuver of its type to be held in the United States since World War II. One of the largest units taking part is the 28th Division, former Pennsylvania National Guard Division, which completed nearly a year of training at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. The maneuvers will continue until September 2.
Ed, a graduate of Whiting high school and State College, Pa., serves the 28th Division as a Bandsman. Before entering the service, February 2, 1950, he was employed as a clerk-typist. His wife, the former Jane Kimmet, is clerk for the White Advertising Co. in Shelby.
His parents are Mr. and Mrs. George E. Ceiga of R.F.D. 1, State College, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ceiga of West Main St. are his grandparents.
Ed, employed as Chief Clerk, at Inland Steel, is enrolled in Hammond Business College. His wife, the former Jane Kimmet, is secretary for the White Advertising Company in Shelby.
