John W. Chitwood, age 52, of Shelby, passed away Friday, April 12, 2002. He is survived by: one daughter, Ericka Chitwood of Sumava Resorts; two sons, Michael (Dawn) Chitwood and Ken Chitwood; one grandchild; his mother, Alma Chitwood of Missouri, and one brother, Fred (Sharon) Chitwood of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Omar Chitwood. Cremation took place April 15 at Heritage Crematory in Portage, with funeral services to be held at at later date. There was no visitation. John W. Chitwood was born December 12, 1949, in Ironton, Missouri, the son of Omar and Alma (nee Renchhausen) Chitwood. He was a former member of The Invaders Motorcycle Club for 30 years. Arrangements were handled by Eller-Brady Funeral Home in Cedar Lake.
