The son of Charles A Clark and LaDema (Hayhurst) Clark, he was born December 12, 1891, at Sherburnville, Ill., about eight miles west of Lowell. He was united in marriage to Miss Lila O. Schmal of Lowell on January 5, 1916, and they were the parents of two children, Jeanne and Ruth.
His early life was spent in farming, until 1925, when he entered the Lowell A&P Store, serving in the managerial capacity for twenty years. After retirement, being discontented with idleness, Mr. Clark ventured successfully into the insurance field until his death.
He was a past master of Colfax Lodge 378 of Lowell, past patron of Order of Eastern Star 360 of Lowell and a member of the Church of Christ.
A host of area friends mourn his going along with his wife, Lila; two daughters, Mrs. William (Jeanne) McLellan and Mrs. W.T. (Ruth) Jones; four grandchildren, all of Lowell; his father, Charles Clark of Grant Park, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Hansen and Leona Gamble of Grant Park and Ora Graves of Lowell; two brothers, Henry H. of Kankakee, Ill., and Merwin of Grant Park, as well as a wide circle of acquaintances, friends and relatives, who will ever hold dear the memory of this kind and gentle one.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Sheets funeral home with Rev. E.L. Worley officiating. Interment was in the Lowell cemetery
