The Dec. 27, 1917, issue of The Lowell Tribune lists Adrian Clevinger as serving in the Army during World War I (page 6, column 6).

Clevinger - Parks
Adrian Clevinger, and Miss Ida M. Parks, of Morocco, were united in marriage at the M.E. parsonage in Crown Point, Saturday by the Rev. Ayling. The groom is the son of Mrs. Etta Celvinger and is a young man who has the esteem of a large circle of friends. The young couple left for a short honeymoon trip after which they will return to Lowell where they will make their future home. We join the friends of the bride and groom in extending congratulations and best wishes.
A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the June 1, 1954, Times, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Services for Adrian M. Clevenger, 51, of 7216 Montana Ave., Hammond, who died Sunday in St. Margaret Hospital will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Huber Funeral Home, 171st St., and Kennedy Ave, Hammond.
The Rev. Owen L. Miller of the First Baptist Church of Hammond will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Gary Memorial Post 17, American Legion, of which he was a member, will conduct memorial services at 8:30 p.m. today.
Employed for the past 17 years as a construction supervisor of the Northern Indiana Public Service Co., he was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his widow, Ida, one son, Raymond, six daughters, Clara, Adrienne, Mrs. Jennette Skaggs and Mrs. Adeline Lowrance of Hammond, Mrs. Vivian Massy of Gary and Mrs. Marjorie Pingloff of Munster, one brother, Harold Clevenger of Morocco; five sisters, Mrs. Latasco Tremper of Lowell, Mrs. Flora Heiland and Mrs. Marion Hopkins, both of Hammond, Mrs. Cora Ohlencamp of Grant Park, Ill., and Mrs. Irma Iliff of Shelby.
