DIVES FROM PIER -- BREAKS NECK
Edmund Clinke, a 16 year old Chicago lad, died in St. Margaret's hospital, Hammond, Saturday morning. He was out to Cedar Lake with a crowd of young people and all were in bathing. Young Clinke dove off a pier into shallow water, striking his head on the lake bottom with force enough to break his neck. He was taken from the lake and medical aid called, and it was soon found that his neck was broken. He was taken to the Hammond hospital, where he passed away the following morning. He lived at 923 W. 86th St., Chicago.
