A copy of the following undated, unidentified newspaper article was found in the Lowell Public Library's clipping files:
The concert last Tuesday evening, given by the Lowell Silver Cornet Band, was a very fine affair. The feast of music, in the main was excellent. It was an exhibition of our home talent of which we may well feel proud. The assistance given the band by Messrs. O.E. and Geo. Sutton and W.F. Tuthill, added much to the occasion. Mrs. Allie Cutler acquitted herself nobly, and in fact all done well. We are glad to note the success of the concert financially, too, as it gave the band boys a lift which they needed.
