Many years ago Mr. Craft conducted a furniture and undertaking store in Lowell, being located in the building now occupied by the Cash Market. He was raised in this vicinity on the Craft homestead east of Lowell and lived here until moving to Monon, where he was in business until a short time ago. He was a man who had many friends here at his old home, and who, will regret to hear of his sudden death.
Morgan Craft was born in Marietta, Ohio, October 21, 1848. In his boyhood with his family he came to Lowell, where he grew to manhood. On April 26*, 1876, he was united in marriage to Barbara Haan of Crown Point. To this union two children were born. When a young man he united with the Christian church of Lowell.
He has been a resident of Monon for about forty-two years, the greater part of this time being spent in active business. He was of a quiet, retiring disposition, kind and generous, and was especially fond of children. In his old age he retained his youthful spirit. He died November 26, 1926, at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 5 days.
He leaves to mourn him, his wife, one son, Charles, and daughter, Goldie, three brothers, Cassander, of Momence, Ill., James and Delbert, of Lowell, one sister, Mrs. Bruce Meeker of Crown Point, and numerous other relatives and friends.
