Mrs. Dewey and her husband returned to Lowell to live in the family home in 1933 after his retirement from the Standard Oil Company at Whiting, Ind., where they had lived for twenty years.
Mr. Dewey passed away in 1938. Two brothers, Lewellyn Smith of Lowell and Harry Smith of Chicago, survive. Also surviving are three children, Mrs. George (Celeste) Sharp of Lowell, Mrs. W. (Ester) Wilson and Phillip Dewey, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorial services, conducted by Rev. E.L. Worley at two o'clock, Monday afternoon, were held in the Weaver funeral home. Interment was in the Union Corners cemetery, near Grant Park, in charge of John Eskridge.
