Josephine was born September 14, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Travers of Valparaiso, both deceased, and on October 12, 1898, she became the bride of Dr. Dinwiddie. They established their home on Burnham Street where they spent more than 50 years in maternal bliss. Her husband was one of Lake County's most prominent professional men, having dental offices in Lowell and Gary. They enjoyed community prestige and were active in church and civic affairs. Mrs. Dinwiddie held membership in the Lowell Woman's club and the Garden club.
Rev. Loren E. Holt, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiated at memorial services held in Weaver's funeral home at 2:00 p.m., Sunday. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Plum Grove cemetery.
Surviving besides a son, Dr. G.A. Dinwiddie, a dentist in Honolulu, are two grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Daisy Hack of Gary.
