This information, in a January 31, 1952, Lowell Tribune article, was found on page 1, column 3:
Cpl. Lewis R. Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elliott, of Cedar Lake, is also home on rotation after 11 months of service with the army. He was transported to Seattle aboard the R.L. Howze with Dave Keithley. Lewis graduated from high school at Olney, Ill., and when inducted he was employed by the Acme Steel Co., at Riverdale, Ill.
