Mrs. Fisher was born in Scotland, September 7, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fyfe. She came to the United States when 14 years old and since her marriage to Thomas K. Fisher, 62 years ago, she had lived in Eagle Creek township. Mrs. Fisher was widely known over southern Lake and Porter counties, her husband having served as township trustee for many years and also operated a hybrid seed business. She was a member of the former United Presbyterian church of Hebron.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in the Range Line Presbyterian church, with the pastor, Rev. Darrell Parker, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hebron cemetery. Sheets Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving with her husband, Thomas, are seven children, Mrs. Paul Gibbs of Gary, Mrs. Howard Evans of DeMotte, Mrs. James Nelson of South Bend, Mrs. George Clark, Mrs. Fremond McCarty, Mrs. Loyal Alyea all of Lowell, and Martin Fisher of Hebron; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Green of Downers Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Emma Cavell of Davenport, Iowa.
A son, George, who resided at Kankakee, Ill., died 32 years ago at the age of 11 years.
Mrs. Fisher devoted her entire life to her family and was held in highest esteem by all who knew her.
