Mr. Foster was president of the First National bank when that institution merged with the Lowell National bank five years ago. He served as trustee of West Creek Township, Lake County council for a number of years. He was also active in the interests of the Methodist hospital in Gary.
Surviving are his widow, Lena; two sons, Arthur and Clyde of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. J.S. Robison of Winchester, Ind., and Mrs. R.H. Johnston of Valparaiso, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Nelson, Mrs. George Bailey of Lowell, and Mrs. Sam Richards of Valparaiso.
Memorial services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Lowell.
