Bert Fuller, 35, an employee of Ransom-Miller chicken ranch, Swanton, O., was burned seriously in his home on the ranch early Thursday when a coal stove exploded.
Mrs. Fuller and the children June, 7, and Kenenth, 5, in their night clothes, were forced to jump through a window to save their lives when the blaze spread through the building, a one-story structure.
Mr. Fuller was awakened about 3 A.M. by the smell of gas. When he opened the draft in the stove, the blast occurred. Although his underwear was enveloped in flames, Mr. Fuller awakened his family by shouting and ran outside.
After extinguishing the flames by rolling in the snow, Mr. Fuller got his machine out of the garage and took his wife and family to the home of a neighbor, Clarence Green, in the Grailey road, about a quarter of a mile from the ranch.
