This Jan. 29, 1920, Lowell Tribune article also appears in the Lowell Public Library local history clipping files (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 1):
The sudden death of Mrs. Sophia Goudy, wife of N.B. Goudy, occurred in Winfield, at the home of her son, Thomas Goudy, on Monday morning. She appeared as well as usual in the morning, but when the family returned to the house after doing up the chores, her lifeless body was found in her bed, where they had left her a little earlier. She was 66 years, 4 months and 17 days old and hypertrophy of the heart was the cause of her death. The body was shipped to Kokomo, Ind., Wednesday morning, and the funeral services were held in that city on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. -- Crown Point Register. Mr. Goudy and family formerly lived north of Lowell, and their many friends here extend sincere sympathy.
