Mr. Griffin received his public school education in this place and later attended an academy in Henry County, and at the early age of 21 years was admitted to the bar in this place and for some time practiced with his father. He traveled the road of fame fast for a young man and before he was 30 years old was elected Secretary of State of Indiana. And was reelected, serving in that capacity for four years, and became one of the principal orators in the state. He was elected and served a year as commander of the Sons of Veterans of the United States, and has been very prominent through his short life in politics, societies, and law. He leaves a wife, who in her girlhood was Edith Burhans, and a son and daughter. Karl and Ida, who are sympathized with by a large circle.
