The following September 4, 1924, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 3:
The fifth annual reunion of the Hamacher family was held at Noble Oaks park at Cedar Lake Sunday, August 31st. There were 135 relatives and a few visitors present. A long table was spread with all good things to eat. With plenty of lemonade and coffee. After dinner a short business meeting was held. Mrs. Effie Lasky, of Bloomington, Ill., was elected President; Floyd Hamacher, of Hammond, Vice President; Mrs. Lutrell Thompson, of Gary, Secy-Treas.
The secretary reported one wedding, one death and six births in the last year. The oldest person there was Mrs. Francis Jordon, of Houston, Texas, and the youngest was the little daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Lakin of Parr, Ind. The afternoon was spent by the young folks in bathing boat riding and the older ones in visiting and renewing old acquaintance. Those from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Hamacher and son, from Washington, D.C.; Amos Clarks [of] Fredonia Kans.; Mrs. Francis Jordon, Houston, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnston, Moline, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Will Hamacher, of Bucyrus, Ohio; Otto Hudson and family of Morrison, Ill.
