Her husband, Mr. Wegert, died in the year 1882. Immediately after which she moved to Grant Park. In the year 1885 she was married to Mr. Carl Hamann of this vicinity, the couple making their home at Lowell, Indiana. In 1923* Mr. Hamann died after which the deceased made her home in Beecher, until the time of her death. Her death being due to complications of old age, although given the best of faithful loving care by her children she answered the call of her Maker on August 2, 1928, at eight-thirty o'clock at the age of 82 years, 4 months, 3 days. She leaves to mourn her death the children already mentioned, twenty three grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends in the vicinities of Beecher and Lowell as well as in Grant Park. Her loving kindness will always linger in hearts of her children and all who knew her.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, beginning at one o'clock at the home and continued at two o'clock at the St. Peter's church in Grant Park. Rev. Horst of Beecher officiated at the services which were conducted in both English and German language. The Ladies' Aid of which the departed was a member, sang one song and Miss Hulda Blanke rendered an appropriate solo.
Interment was made at the St. Peter's Evangelical cemetery.
Although this obituary lists her second husband's (Carl Hamann) death date as 1923, his obituary actually appeared in the March 26, 1925, Lowell Tribune.
