Pvt. Clarence Harding Transferred
Pvt. Clarence Harding, who has been stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, for the past several months, was transferred recently to Camp Sutton, N. C. where he is now with the John Deere Battalion
The following April 29, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
After spending ten days at home here with his parents, the Emil Hardings, Pvt. Clarence Harding left last Saturday for Pomona, California, where he is stationed in the ordnance department.

Historian Richard Schmal's obituary collection:
Clarence B. Harding, 80, of Lowell, IN passed away on Wednesday, August
19, 1998. He is survived by his wife Virginia; one son, Clarence
(Sherry) Harding of Lowell; one daughter, Cathy (Stormy) Marshall of
Lowell; two grandchildren, Vince and Kayla Harding, at home; three step-
sons, Ed, Paul and Jim Federowski, all of Lowell; numerous step-
grandchildren; two sisters, Irma (Arnold) Rosenthal of Lowell and Arlene
Russell of Lowell; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by one step-son, Bob Federowski in 1968.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 25, 1998, at 11 a.m. at
the Trinity Lutheran Church, 631 W. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN, Pastor
Mark Pflughoeft officiating. Burial will follow at Lowell Memorial
Cemetery. VISITATION WILL BE HELD MONDAY FROM 2 to 9 P.M. AT THE
TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH PARISH HALL.
Clarence was the owner of Hardings, Inc., in Lowell, a World War II Army
veteran having served from 1942-1946, a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Lowell, American Legion Post #101 in Lowell, VFW Post #6841 in
Lowell, Tradewinds Rehabilitation and Pirates, Inc. in Munster. He was
the charter president of the Lowell Chamber of Commerce in 1957. In
lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clarence B. Harding
