She was united in marriage to Jay Hathaway, September 10, 1913. To this union two children were born, Paul, 10 years old , and Lloyd, 6 years old. She united with the Christian church at the age of 14 years and has always lived a true Christian life. She always met the difficulties of life with a smile and even disposition.
She graduated from the Savonberg high school at the age of 19.
For several years after her marriage she lived in Savonberg, but several years ago she moved here with her family and during her residence among us has made many warm friends who deeply regret her untimely death. She leaves to mourn, her husband, two sons, father, one brother and one sister, of Savonberg, Kansas, and one sister of Joplin, Mo., father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Hathaway, and many other relatives. Her mother passed away in August 1919 and one sister passed away February 20, 1920.
A short funeral service was held at the home in West Creek at 2:45 Monday, being conducted by Rev. F.B. Nickerson, pastor of the Christian church in Lowell. Undertaker Sheets had charge of the remains and after the funeral they were brought to Lowell and shipped to Savonberg, Kansas, where they will be laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery in that place.
