A March 4, 1943, Lowell Tribune article (page 2, column 2) said that Lester Hayden had been transferred from Fort Benjamin Harrison to Ft. McClellan, Alabama, for basic training.

Home on Furlough

Cpl. Lester Hayden arrived home from Fort McClellan, Ala., yesterday and is visiting his parents, the Kitchell Haydens. He is in the medical corps.
