On November 11, 1861, she was married to Edgar Hayden. To this union were born three children, Nellie, Seigel and Lucy. Father Hayden died on March 22, 1906, Lucy in infancy and Nellie on February 6, 1915.
When first married father and mother Hayden located on a farm mear Lowell. About forty years ago they left the farm and moved to Lowell, where mother Hayden lived until last July when she came to live with her son Seigel and wife, and lived here until February 10th when she went home to God at the good age fo 85 years, 11 months and 22 days.
She leaves to mourn their loss one son, six grand children, nine great grand children and one sister, Mrs. Herman Eilerman, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home of her son Seigel last Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. William Carey, of Creston. Six nephews acted as pall bearers: Wilbur Hayden, Theul Hayden, Grant Hayden, Roy Hayden, George Koplin and Eddie Eilerman. Burial at West Creek cemetery in charge of Undertaker Sheets.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wartena of Hammond; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson of Battle Ground; Mrs. and Mrs. Ernest Mills of Munster; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Parmley and children of Riverside, Ill.; and Roy J. Beebe of Chicago.
