She was married to Wallace B. Hayden, February 21, 1873. To this union were born four children, three sons, Herman, Earl and Nelson, and one daughter, Ruby, now Mrs. Gordon.
She united with the M.E. Church at Sherburnville, Ill., in 1888, and has followed the pathway of righteousness ever since as has been demonstrated in her every day life. She was not only a mother to her little flock, but a motherly interest and care over the entire community in which she lived, being ever ready to administer deeds of kindness and words of comfort and cheer to those in distress.
She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, three sons, one daughter, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. C.N. Morgan, Mrs. Wm. Hayden, and one brother, Eli Edmonds, together with a host of admiring friends.
The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon at 1:30 and was attended by a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends who gathered to pay their last respects to a woman they had loved and respected in life. Rev. C.A. Brown, pastor of the Lowell M.E. Church, preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the West Creek cemetery. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service. The following nephews acted as pall bearers: Bert D. Hayden, Calvin Love, Jodie Hayden, Roy Pattee, Minor Collins and Milton Hayden. The bereaved family has the sympathy of their friends in their great sorrow.
