A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Dec. 2, 1955, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Mrs. Bert C. Hayden Appointed to Lowell Library Board
Mrs. Bert C. Hayden was appointed Tuesday by Cedar Creek Twp. Trustee W.R. Weaver to serve as a director of the Lowell Public Library. Mrs. Hayden fills the vacancy created by the resignation on December 10 of Charles Dickinson, who served the board for 14 years.
