Married in 1903, she and her husband lived on a farm near Lowell until 1921, [the] year of their removal to Gary. Hobart had been their home place since 1940 and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary there November 23, 1953.
A native Crown Pointer, Mrs. Hill held memberships in First Reformed church in Gary, Rebekah lodge in Hobart and the Woman's club in Crystal River, Florida.
She leaves with her husband their two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Armitage of Munster and Mrs. Violet Schmidt of Hobart; a son Forrest Hill of Forest Hills, Merrillville; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Bessie Merryweather of Yankeetown, Florida.
Services will be conducted by Rev. J. M. Johnson at First Reformed church Gary at 2 o'clock Saturday evening in the Pflughoeft chapel in Hobart where the body will remain until early Sunday morning.
Burial will be in Orchard Grove Cemetery, Lowell. The Pflughoeft Funeral Home, 700 S. Lincoln St., Hobart, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the Hobart Rebekah Lodge and the Crystal River (Fla.) Woman's Club. The lodge will conduct services Saturday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Surviving are her husband, George; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Armitage of Munster and Mrs. Violet Schmidt of Hobart; a son Forrest of Merrillville; a son Forrest of Merrillville; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Merryweather of Yankeetown, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
