Wins Promotion in Q.M. Dept
A letter received by Mrs. Ella Tanner from her nephew, Robert Hoevet, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mat Hoevet, tells her that he has been promoted to Quartermaster 3rd class in the U.S. navy. Robert is now on patrol duty with his outfit "somewhere in the Pacific."
The following October 4, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 6, columns 4-5:
Mr. and Mrs. Garrison Hoevet and children of Juno, Wisconsin, and his brother, Robert Hoevet, QM 1/c, who has just returned after spending three years overseas, and is now home on 30 days leave, were here visiting relatives and friends Sunday. The boys are the sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mat Hoevet, Jr.
