Married Sixty Years
Monday, January 7, was the 60th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hoffmann. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman being in poor health, they made no elaborate preparations to celebrate the happy event, but passed the day quietly at home talking over old times and reviewing the many changes that have taken place in this part of the county in the past sixty years. They are pioneers here and have witnessed the wonderful transformation of a prairie country to one of the richest farming sections. One thing the old couple recall very distinctly that was different from Monday, was the fact that when they drove to the church 60 years ago there was not a flake of snow on the ground and they made the trip in a lumber wagon, which on the sixtieth anniversary there was plenty of snow and in many places the roads were impassible. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman wish for them many more returns of their wedding anniversary.
