He was united in marriage to Ida E. Hill December 26, 1880. To this union were born eight children, all residing in Crown Point except Mrs. Madge Miller, who resides at Momence, Ill. Mr. Jones had suffered from heart trouble for about two years, but bore his suffering patiently. Although not identified with any church his great heart of love and noble sacrifice for the good and comfort of others has led him to be one of the most faithful of men. His life was so pure, good and noble and his helpful deeds so widely distributed that truly none knew him but to love him. Faithful to all his friends, a devoted and self sacrificing husband and father, all his relatives and friends rise up to call him blessed.
Funeral services were held at the home in Crown Point Thursday afternoon and the remains were brought to Lowell for burial. Rev. J.J. Simpson, former pastor of the Presbyterian church here, preached the funeral sermon. Undertaker William Sheets had charge of the burial service.
