A letter received by Mrs. Schuyler Stilson from her son, Robert Kaetzer, informs her that he is at Camp Haan, Calif., where he is taking his basic training. Bob was O.K. at the time of writing.

Writes from South Pacific
Writing his mother, Mrs. Schuyler Stilson, Cpl. Robert Kaetzer says he is getting along fine in that part of the world. Bob said he and some of his buddies have formed an orchestra and are now playing at the various functions put on at the camp.
This December 14, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
Awarded Asiatic Ribbon and Bronze Star
A letter received by Mr. and Mrs. Schuyler Stilson from their son, Cpl. Robert Kaetzer, informed them he had been awarded the Asiatic ribbon for service in that war theatre, and the Bronze Star for being in action against the enemy. Bob has been in the South Pacific for the past 14 months. He said he had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner -- turkey with all the trimmings, and enjoyed it very much. He said he was feeling fine when he wrote.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the January 17, 1946, issue (page 2, column 2):
Cpl. Robert Kaetzer arrived home last Saturday after receiving his discharge from the service at Camp Atterbury. Bob had been in service three years, with 29 months overseas in the Pacific theatre. This is his first visit home since he entered the service.
