Lena Agnes (Shandler) Kerr was born in Crown Point, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Shandler. Following her marriage to Charles B. Kerr, the couple resided in East Chicago until 1948, when they returned to southern Lake County and established their home at Lake Dale. She participated in the activities of the Lake Dalecarlia Community church, Home Demonstration club, and other community organizations.
Memorial services were conducted from the Huber Funeral Home, East Chicago, with Rev. O.R. Foster, pastor of the Lake Dale church, officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, Hammond.
Surviving with her husband are five sons and three daughters: Charles of Crown Point, Arthur of Whiting, Donald, Robert and John of Hessville, Mrs. Evelyn Daily of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Adele Schauss of Dhahran, Saudi, Arabia, and Mrs. Fern Enquist of Safford, Arizona. Also 18 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Emma Rhein of Cook.
