Christine Kramer was born November 24, 1851, in Koeulugshnegee, Pendsburg, Germany. She grew to womanhood in her native land and in 1876 was united in marriage to John Krauthammer. About three years later they decided to seek their fortune in the new world, and came to Yellowhead township, where they lived on a farm for many years. By hard work and strict attention to business, the accumulated a considerable amount of this world's goods, and about twelve years ago decided to retire. They purchased a fine home in Grant Park, where they have since lived. The deceased was a devoted member of St. Peter's Evangelical church and was held in highest esteem by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Llewellyn Smith, of Lowell, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Evangelical church on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E. Mayer officiating, and were attended by a large number of relatives and friends. The many floral offerings spoke of the high esteem in which she was held. Burial was at Union Corners cemetery. -- Grant Park Anchor
