The following obituary was found in the June 20, 1946, Lowell Tribune, page 1, column 2:
Heber A. Loyce, Jr., six-year-old son of Postmaster and Mrs. Heber A. Loyce, passed away at the Gary Methodist hospital last Friday morning, He failed to rally after undergoing an operation for removal of his tonsils.
Besides his parents, the little lad is survived by one little brother, Terry, one year old. The family lives at Lake Dalecarlia.
Funeral services were held at the Weaver funeral home Monday at 4 p.m. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery in charge of W.R. Weaver.
The following obituary was found in Lowell Public Library clipping files (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 2, page 93) and was hand dated and identified as being from the Jan. 18, 1968, Lowell Tribune:
Word has been received from Mrs. Heber Allen Loyce of the passing of her husband on December 28 in their home in Marathon Shores, Florida. They lived at Lake Dalecarlia from 1938 to 1953, and he was the Postmaster of Lowell for ten years from 1943 to 1953. Mr. Loyce, age 57, leaves his wife Jeanette and son Terry, both of Marathon Shores, his mother and two sisters. Services were held in the St. Columbus Episcopal Church with cremation following. He was also a Master Mason.
