In Sept. 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served his country faithfully until he made the supreme sacrifice on Bougainville in the South Pacific, Nov. 18, 1943, at the age of 18 yrs., 4 mo. and 16 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Francis Marion Luchine; five brothers: Clayton, Cleyon, Ellis, Jacob and Homer; three sisters: Cecil, Leara and Elaine; also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. His mother preceded him in death March 21, 1941.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 13, from Weavers Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Rev. E.L. Worley officiating. Burial in Lowell cemetery in charge of Lowell Post No. 101.
