SURPRISE PARTY
A delightful surprise was rendered Mrs. Paul Mahler, Friday afternoon, November 23rd, when several of her friends stopped in to remind her of her 64th birthday anniversary. The afternoon was spent in talking over old times and many stories were told and the honors were given Mrs. Kate Metcalf for the telling [of] the best one. After the story telling the guests were invited to the dining room, where the table was prettily decorated for the occasion, orange crepe paper being the color scheme. Delightful refreshments of ice-cream, cake, sandwiches, pie, pickles, cheese, cookies and coffee [were] served, after which the guests departed wishing Mrs. Mahler many happy returns of the day.
Those present were: Mesdames Archie Clark, Cort Bowman, Ellie Nichols and children, Kate Metcalf, George Wilson, Bird Sisson, Carl Game, Susie Kenney, Charlotte Nichols, Carl Mahler and Merle Mahler and children; Misses Tossie Ferguson and Guenevere Forney.
Mrs. Mahler was given many useful gifts.
