James R. McBee

Assigned for Basic Training

New Orleans, La., July 29 - Pvt. James R. McBee, whose father, Jas. C. McBee resides at Lake Dalecarlia, Lowell, has been assigned to the Army Service Forces Training Command at Camp Plauche for basic military training.

After six weeks of basic work, he will receive nine weeks of specialized training to fit him for duty with the transportation corps which is charged with the mission of transporting men and war materials to theaters of operations throughout the world.

Prior to induction, Pvt. McBee was an electrician at the Puget Sound navy yard.
