This April 8, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 6, column 3:
Mrs. Joe Dinwiddie attended the funeral of her father, Russell E. Merriman, at Bangor, Michigan, last Saturday, April 3rd, accompanied by her son Miles McFadden, her aunt, Mrs. Herman Eilerman, and daughter's family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cronkhite and daughter. Mr. McFadden and Mr. Cronkhite acted with other grandsons as pallbearers. Mrs. Merriman is the former Ella Thompson of Lowell.
