Killed in Action in Burma
Report of the death of Richard C. Meyer, killed in action in Burma on June 28th, was received on Tuesday, July 25th, by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Meyer of 37 Elizabeth St., Hammond. He had been in service since Nov., 1942, and had been in camps in Texas and Missouri and was sent across in April of this year.
He was born in Elgin, Ill., July 23, 1921. He leaves his parents and one brother, Robert L. of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Marion Zahrte who is with her soldier husband in Louisiana at present.
A grandson of the late Henry R. Meyers, he was well known here, having visited his relatives in this community often.
