Dan Molchan To Take Over As Lowell High School Football Coach
Dan Molchan, who joined the Lowell high school coaching staff as assistant football coach last fall, will move into the key post filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Joe Barber.
Mr. Barber, who replaced the esteemed L.H.S. veteran coach Mike Milakovic two years ago, has signed a contact as assistant football coach at Hobart.
An alumnus of Merrillville high school and Purdue University, Coach Molchan compiled an enviable record as an athlete in high school and college, and was a highly capable assistant coach last season

The upward trend in athletics L.H.S. will be given a substantial boost this year, with the coming of Dan Molchan as assistant coach.
Molchan needs no introduction to Lowell sport fans who watched his football and basketball performances from 1946 through 1950. An athlete noted for his team play and sportsmanship as well as individual brilliance, Dan was one of the greatest athletes in Calumet Conference history during his playing days at Merrillville.
