At an early age she united with the Baptist church at O'Fallon and was a consistent member of that church.
She was married to Thomas P. Morey in October 1871. Six children were born to this union: Nellie, wife of George Hickman, of California; Sarah E., of Fredonia, Pa.; Wilbur P. of Fredonia, Pa.; Carrie S., wife of W. Watson, of California; Dorothy, wife of Clarence Powell, of Tekousha, Mich.; Walter E., who died in infancy.
The family lived on a farm near Lowell for a number of years; later they moved to Missouri where they resided for a number of years. Failing health caused them to dispose of their property there and to return to Indiana where they made their later home.
After the death of her husband in 1917 she made her home with various members of her family for a number of years. The past few years she has resided with her son, Wilbur, and daughter, Sarah, at Fredonia, Pa.
Recently she had an attack of pneumonia which, owing to her advanced age, she was unable to overcome and passed away peacefully March 22, 1929, in her 82nd year.
