Lucy J. Martin Nichols was born in Lake Co., Ind., April 14, 1865. Died at her home 4 miles east of Lowell Nov. 23*, 1897, aged 32 years, 7 months and 9 days. She was married to J.F. Nichols September 3, 1884. To this union God gave 5 children, 4 of whom are living. She was a kind and affectionate mother, beloved by all who knew her. Her funeral services were conducted by W.B. Warren, pastor Lowell M.E. Church, at her late home, Wednesday, November 24th, at 1:00 P.M. A large company of friends and relatives were present, deeply sympathizing with the bereft husband and children. The prayers and sympathy of all will be with the father and children in this time of bereavement.
* NOTE -- Although this obituary lists her death date as Nov. 23, 1897, her son Charles Albert Nichol's obituary listed it as Nov. 21, 1897.
