She was united in marriage to Cyrus Pattee, February 1, 1865. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Pattee lived on their farm in Kankakee County, Illinois, just across the line from Lake County, Indiana, until since which time they have made their home in Lowell.
Mrs. Pattee has since early youth been a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church, and while her health permitted was efficiently active in the various departments of the church work. She was the devoted mother of six children, two of whom have gone on before. For several years Mrs. Pattee has been a sufferer from rheumatism and tuberculosis, but through it all continued to manifest a keen interest in life and in all things that are good and worth while, being always more solicitous for others' comfort than her own. She will be greatly missed. But our loss is her gain, for we know that "To depart and be with Christ is far better." Of her immediate family she leaves behind besides her bereaved husband, four sons -- Lewis A., of Lowell; Dr. James J., of Colorado; Cyrus E., of South Bend; and Frank B. of Crown Point, Indiana.
