This July 26, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 3, column 1:
Pvt. Harold Peterson, stationed in Virginia, was home for 15 days with his mother, Mrs. M. Peterson, and his sister, of Schneider, and other relatives and friends.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the February 14, 1946, issue (page 2, column 1):
Pvt. Harold Peterson has returned to camp after visiting his mother and friends for 90 days. He came from Newport News, Va. and returned to Fort Sheridan, Ill., for a short time. He was discharged and signed up for one year or more.
