Paul David Phebus (1923-1995)


The 1940 Lowellian lists Paul Phebus as among the freshmen letterman on the basketball and football squads (page 79), and he appears in a photo of the team on page 139. In the 1941 Lowellian, however, he appears in both the freshman and the sophomore histories. On page 83 he is listed as the best looking freshman boy, but in the "Sophomore History" section on page 87 he is listetd among the sophomores who had been on the football and basketball squads as freshmen. Elsewhere in the book he is listed as a freshman for the 1940/41 school year. Paul Phebus is only mentioned once in the 1942 Lowellian, in the "Sophomore History" section, for having been selected as the best looking male freshman the year before.
